Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know about DataLiftor

If you're evaluating DataLiftor for a data project, you probably have questions about our sourcing, accuracy, compliance posture, pricing, or what happens after the sale. Below are the questions our team hears most — organized by category, searchable, and answered without marketing fluff.

Data Quality & Sourcing

Where our data comes from and how we verify it

Every record is aggregated from 600+ licensed and public sources, including professional directories, regulatory filings, business registries, licensed partner feeds, and publicly accessible corporate information. We do not scrape competitor platforms or take data from sources whose terms prohibit redistribution.

Each record carries source attribution and a lawful-basis flag, so if your legal team ever needs to know where a specific record came from, we can tell them.

Every record passes through a six-stage verification pipeline before it enters your file: 1. Aggregation from 600+ sources. 2. Cross-reference against three or more independent sources. 3. Technical verification — a seven-point email check (SMTP, syntax, MX, role, disposable, catch-all, deliverability), phone validation, and employer record matching. 4. Human review for flagged records and edge cases. 5. Compliance screening against opt-out lists and regulatory rules. 6. Refresh every 30 days.

The 95% accuracy figure is measured at the moment of delivery — see our Terms & Conditions for the exact warranty definition.

The active database re-enters the verification cycle every 30 days. Job changes, role moves, disconnected phone lines, and bounced email addresses are flagged in near-real time and re-verified on the next cycle.

For active subscription customers, this refresh is included at no additional charge. For one-time list purchases, the file reflects the state of the database at the time of your Order.

If a delivered list falls below 95% accuracy at the time of delivery, we'll either replace the invalid records at no charge or credit the pro-rata portion toward your next Order — your choice. You submit a claim with a third-party verification report (ZeroBounce, NeverBounce, or Kickbox are all accepted) within 14 days of delivery, and we act on it.

This is the data-quality guarantee; the exact process is in Section 7 of our Terms & Conditions.

Yes. Our global database spans 120+ countries with vertical depth in healthcare, technology, financial services, manufacturing, real estate, SaaS, and AI. International coverage varies by industry — a healthcare list is deep in the US, UK, and DACH region; a manufacturing list is deep in the US, EU, and select APAC markets.

Before you buy, request a scoping call and we'll tell you exactly what coverage looks like for your specific audience and geography.

Compliance & Legal

GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA — the questions your legal team will ask

Yes. All EU and UK records are sourced under a defensible lawful basis — typically legitimate interest for B2B contact intelligence — and every record carries source attribution so you can document the chain of custody if regulators ask.

We provide a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) as a standard part of any Order that includes EU/UK records. Once you're a customer, you become the data controller and we act as a data supplier (not joint controller). Your outreach is governed by your own lawful basis, which you must document independently.

Our sourcing and delivery processes are designed to align with CAN-SPAM (US) and CCPA/CPRA (California) — we screen against opt-out lists, honor "do not sell / do not share" flags, and route records with any known suppression status out of your delivery file.

Important nuance: compliance for outreach is your responsibility. CAN-SPAM requires you to include a physical postal address in every email, provide a functional unsubscribe link, and honor unsubscribes within 10 business days. We give you clean, lawfully sourced data — you run compliant campaigns with it.

DataLiftor's healthcare records contain professional contact information — physician office phone numbers, hospital direct-dial lines, professional emails, specialties, and facility affiliations. They do not contain protected health information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA, so our data is used for B2B commercial communication with healthcare professionals, not for anything touching patient care.

That said, all healthcare records are sourced from HIPAA-compliant channels (state licensing boards, hospital directories, professional associations) and cross-verified before delivery.

Yes, for legitimate B2B sales and marketing outreach. All records are licensed to you for internal business use, including CRM loading, email/direct mail outreach, ABM, and demand generation.

You cannot use the records for consumer marketing, resell them to a third party, or contact them via prohibited channels (e.g., autodialed calls without TCPA-compliant consent). Full list of prohibited uses is in Section 6 of our Terms & Conditions.

Yes. For enterprise Orders and Orders that include EU/UK records, we sign a standard Data Processing Agreement (DPA) at no additional charge. For customers who prefer their own paper, we'll review and countersign a reasonable MSA — the review typically takes 3–5 business days.

Email contact@dataliftor.com with your legal team's DPA or MSA and we'll get it turned around.

Pricing, Delivery & Refunds

What things cost, how fast you get them, what happens if it doesn't work out

Pricing depends on your audience size, industry vertical, and whether you're licensing a one-time list or a subscription with monthly refreshes. Rather than list a menu that would rarely fit your situation, we scope every Order individually.

To get a quote, share your target audience (industry, roles, geography, approximate volume) via our contact form or by emailing contact@dataliftor.com. Pricing is included in the reply along with a free sample.

Standard delivery is within 24 hours of an approved Order for most audiences. Highly niche or specialty-heavy audiences (e.g. specific medical sub-specialties in a small geography) may take 2–3 business days because they require additional human verification passes.

If you need same-day turnaround, tell us in the initial inquiry — we can often accommodate urgent timelines when the audience is already well-covered in our database.

Yes, and we recommend you do. When we scope your project, we include a free sample of real records matching your audience criteria — usually 25–100 records — so you can verify accuracy against your own tests before committing.

The sample uses the same delivery format as the full list, so what you see is what you'd get.

Because delivered records can be copied to any system the instant they arrive, we don't offer general refunds — an industry standard for data licenses. What we do offer is the data quality guarantee: if a delivered list falls below 95% accuracy at the time of delivery, we replace the invalid records or issue a pro-rata credit toward your next Order.

See Section 7 of our Terms & Conditions for the exact claim process and timing.

Standard delivery is CSV, Excel (XLSX), and JSON. Larger enterprise customers can request direct delivery to Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Outreach, and SalesLoft via API push. For very high-volume subscriptions, we support scheduled S3 or SFTP drops.

Tell us your preferred format in the initial inquiry and we'll configure it for your Order.

Data Usage & Customization

What you can filter on, what fields you get, what you can do with the data

Standard fields include: first name, last name, job title, seniority level, department, verified business email, direct-dial phone (when available), company name, industry, revenue band, employee count, headquarters city, state, country, LinkedIn URL, and company website.

Vertical-specific enrichments are added on request. Healthcare records can include specialty codes and hospital affiliations. Technology records can include tech stack signals and cloud provider. Financial services records can include regulatory registrations. Ask us during scoping.

Very granular. You can filter by role and seniority (e.g. "VP of Engineering, Director and above"), industry sub-vertical (300+ SIC codes), company size (revenue and headcount bands), geography (down to metro area), tech stack signals for technology audiences, and specialty codes for healthcare audiences.

If you have a filter combination you're not sure we support, ask — most reasonable requests are already built into the database.

No. Records are licensed to a single company for internal business use. You cannot resell, sublicense, share, or redistribute them to affiliates, subsidiaries, clients, or partners without a separate written agreement.

If you're a marketing agency running campaigns on behalf of clients, we offer agency licenses that permit use across specific named client accounts. Contact us for terms.

Yes, for compliant B2B cold email. You need to include a valid physical postal address, provide a functional unsubscribe link, honor unsubscribes within 10 business days, and not use deceptive subject lines or "from" addresses — all standard CAN-SPAM requirements.

For records located in the EU/UK, you need to determine and document your lawful basis (typically legitimate interest for B2B), and provide a privacy notice at first contact under GDPR. We supply the data; you run the compliant campaign.

Yes. Upload a CSV of your existing contacts and we'll match against our database to fill in missing fields (job title, phone, email, company data, LinkedIn URL, industry codes, etc.) and refresh outdated ones.

Enrichment is priced per matched record, not per uploaded record — you only pay for records we can enrich. Contact us for a scoping call and a match-rate estimate.

Account & Support

Who to talk to, response times, and what post-purchase support looks like

Yes. Every customer works with a named account specialist — not a ticketing system, not a support bot. Your specialist learns your business, your audience specification, and your delivery preferences, and stays with you across renewals.

For enterprise Orders, we also assign a dedicated data engineer who handles custom fields, format specifications, and integration questions.

Every inquiry from a prospect or active customer receives a reply within 24 business hours. Most reach out via the contact form or by emailing contact@dataliftor.com.

For urgent issues, our team is reachable by phone at +1 (804) 999-9652, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM EST.

Subscriptions auto-renew for successive terms equal to the initial term. To cancel, give us written notice at least 30 days before the end of your current term — email contact@dataliftor.com and we confirm within one business day.

When your subscription ends, you must delete the licensed Records within 10 business days as described in Section 15 of our Terms & Conditions.
